Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the young scientist Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai, who won award at the prestigious Google Science Fair completion in California.
Lalita has made the entire State and India proud with her outstanding performance at the international competition in America, said Patnaik adding “This achievement is historical success for us”.
Many children belonging to Odisha are achieving success in national and international level these days. This proves that they have strong confidence to win any top level competition. Lalita set an example for other students of the country with her success, Patnaik said.
The 13-year-old Lalita from Koraput won the Community Impact Award at the Google Science Fair competition in the US today. She is the only Indian among 8 winners at the international competition. Her project on “Development of low-cost bio-absorbent based on corn cobs” was highly lauded at the event.
With this achievement, the young scientist will be supported by Scientific American to work on her project further. She has won the award in the category of 13-15 years age group.
