Odisha CM inaugurates Mega Milk Processing Plant
CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the state-of-the-art milk processing plant of OMFED (Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation) at Arilo in Cuttack district on Wednesday.
It has been set up by the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department of Odisha government at a cost of Rs 263 crore. The Plant has the capacity to process around five lakh litre milk per day and also, can produce 2 lakh litre of milk powder in a day.
In addition, high-quality yogurt, milk, butter, lassi, ghee, cheese and fragrant milk will be produced and provided to the people at affordable prices.
Attending the function as the chief guest, the Chief Minister said that OMFED is the institution of millions of dairy farmers of the state.
All brothers and sisters related to the farming, have contributed to its development. OMFED has always been working to protect the interests of farmers. The inauguration of today’s new plant will increase farmers’ incomes and benefit about 600,000 farmers, Chief Minister added.
