Odisha CM informed yesterday, water bearing capacity of Hirakud Dam has decreased in state capital

Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: Yesterday Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik had informed that the water bearing capacity of Hirakud dam has considerably decreased. Earlier it was 5834 million cubic feet which has now gone down to 4823 million cubic feet. He said this in a written format to the question asked by BJD Prafulla Samal. Another question was asked by the BJD member regarding the construction of barrages and dams in the upper areas of Mahanadi by the neighbouring government, it was answered that as of now around 8 large projects, 34 medium projects, 1902 small projects and 3820 barrages have been constructed.
