Odisha CM stresses for holding more redressal camps in villages

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to strengthen the administration in rural areas, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the district authorities to organise as much as grievance redressal camps in the villages.

The instruction came during a video conferencing programme with the district collectors and SPs at the state secretariat here on Tuesday.

On the issue of tender mafia, Patnaik directed the district collectors and SPs to take stern action against the mafias if any irregularity comes to fore. He also asked to keep vigil on their activities so that there will be no hindrance take place in the mineral transportation.

Reviewing the work progress of the rural housing construction programme, Patnaik expressed satisfaction over its development. Around 3 lakh houses have been constructed so far in the first phase of this fiscal. Last year, only 3900 houses were built under the programme. The government targets to build 7 lakh houses under the programme for this year. Patnaik suggested the district collectors to finish the construction successfully within the deadline.
