Nayagarh, Dec 13:  CM Naveen Patnaik’s visit to Nimapada and Nayagarh for inaugurating welfare projects in the districts was largely protested by Congress and BJP activists today.

The police detained some activists of BJP, while showing black flag to the CM at a public rally at PTS ground in Nayagarh. Earlier this morning women leader and ex minister Surama Padhi along with her supporters were also taken to preventive custody in fear of any trouble while some congress activists and leaders were also detained.

BJP Mahila Morcha leader Prabhati Parida also opposed Patnaik’s visit. The demonstration is to protest against the black stole removal incident at Sundergarh, said sources.

Though the oppositions did not lack in their protest, but still Patnaik amid such ruckus inaugurated the Kusumi river bridge, Additional classrooms at Chandpur Ramchandi high school and laid foundation stone for various other projects.

In the Rally Naveen addressed the public saying he is happy to be in Nayagarh for a number of welfare projects and schemes for local people.

Congress activists alleged that large corruption have been taken place in construction of the projects to be inaugurated tomorrow.
