Bhubaneswar, March 8: Odia filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra is planning to make a film on “Bhumi Putra” (Son of Soil) Biju Patnaik during his birth centenary year.
An admirer of the legendary leader, Mohapatra said that Biju Patnaik had asked him to meet him after his first film ‘Bhukha’ (Starved) got an award at the Dubai International Film Festival in 1989.”
During the several meetings he had with Biju Babu, the former CM had shared many interesting facts about his life which many people are unaware, he added.
He said the script he had written in the early nineties needs to re-written as there are few more developments.
He has plans to shoot in Indonesia, where the former Chief Minister had a great fan following after his famous rescue mission during that country’s liberation struggle.
