Odisha govt approves rules for model schools

Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: Odisha government has approved the rules for setting up of and recruitment of teachers at 104 proposed model schools across the State from next academic session.

Odisha Model School Recruitment Rule-2015 was approved by School & Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra on Thursday. The classes and enrolment process will begin from next academic year in the model schools that are being set up to impart quality teaching and education.

Reviewing work progress of the under-construction model schools, Mishra directed the officials to complete the construction of all 104 schools by end of December this year.

He instructed the Rural Development Department to finish electrification, water supply and other ancillary work by January next year.

Centre’s Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL) has been entrusted with a responsibility to recruit teachers and principals in the model schools.
