Bhubaneswar: April 26: Schools in Odisha will remain closed till April 26.

A notification in this regard was issued by School and Mass Education department today. Local Meteorological department warned that heat wave conditions would continue across the state for next few days. Earlier, in view of the unprecedented heat wave, the department had ordered closure of all schools till April 20.

Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Sarat Chandra Sahu said, ‘This drop of temperature in the coastal area of Odisha is due to the wind flow from S-E direction. But, the model indicator suggests the temperature will go up gradually in next 48 hours in interior and coastal Odisha’.

Also, he said, there is a possibility of light rainfall in some parts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjar, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput districts by this evening under the influence of a cyclonic circulation formed at a height of 900 metres over Jharkhand and its adjoining areas.
