Bhubaneswar: August 25: Till date, Odisha Government has sanctioned Rs.843.65 crores for 34112 projects of 3717 Gram Panchayats of 165 Blocks of the State under Ama Gaon Ama Vikas’ programme. This is a Programme, where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directly interacts with the villagers, Panchayat representatives and others.
Today also, Chief Minister sanctioned Rs.49.69 crores towards different projects of 10 Blocks of nine districts of the state under the Programme ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikas’.
While addressing ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikas’ programme through video conference here, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that villages working towards creation of a ‘clean and healthy’ environment will be awarded. He said, keeping the environment clean is essential and directly proportional to economic development of the country. Patnaik announced that awards will be given to villages, Panchayats and blocks that have contributed to creation of a clean and healthy society.
Also, CM directed officials’ concerned to meet the deadline of all rural and urban drinking water supply projects by December this year. He said every household in urban areas should be provided with piped drinking water by end of this year.
