Bhubaneswar, Oct 5: Yesterday under the Jagannath project work, the Odisha govt declared to give required infrastructure to state governments of other states who want to establish guest houses in the holy town, Puri for tourists coming from these other states. This decision was taken at a meeting presided by the Odisha CM at the State Secretariat here. This construction of guest houses in Puri will happen on 34 acre land. All this was informed by Sanjay Singh, the CMD of IDCO. Apart from constructing guest houses of different states, parks, market complex and walking tracks will also be made under this project. Street lights of the project will be solely powered by solar power.
Also the CM noted the progress work in the lodging arrangement for Habisialis who are elderly women devotees who perform Kartik Brata at Sri Jagannath temple at Puri. He directed authorities for more Habisialis by next year. It is for the first time that lodging arrangements have been at Puri for about 2,000 Habisialis, by the ruling party. They have been made at Kalyan mandap, Mochi Sahi, Bagala Dharmasala and Narendra Kona having temporary shelters. Beside stay, safe drinking water, health, sanitation and other basic facilities will also be provided for them.
Persons interested to avail the facilities need to apply online or through district collectors of their respective districts by October 7.
