Odisha has vast tourism potential: Experts

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: State Tourism Director Nitin Bhanudas Jawale said here on Saturday that Odisha was richly endowed with natural resources and tourism here was pro nature. 

Apart from the proper installment of infrastructure, this industry is a costless development and the State Government is emphasizing on the proper development of Tourism on priority basis, he said inaugurating a seminar on the second day of the MSME Trade Fair. 

He said the tourism potential should be presented in a correct manner at the international arena. 

“Along with massive publicity, the local people and industry should come forward and create an environment that is supportive as well as conducive to the tourists visiting Odisha.” 

Director of Industries Nityananda Palai discussed about the scope of MSME in Tourism sector and how it has been adding to the state economy since IPR 2015 was established.

HARO chairman J.K Mohanty emphasized on the role of the hotel industry in generating employment in the present scenario.

Managing Director Mechem Pvt. Ltd JK Rath explained the possibilities of entrepreneurship on Aqua Tourism while Chairman IATO Odisha G Sarangi deliberated on the role of Tour Operators.

Advisor Odisha Tourism Advisory Board Benzamin Simon, argued how international hotel chains can be attracted to boost domestic economy.

 CEO 5 Elements Sibashis Mishra put forth his opinion on latest technologies and applications that needs to be developed to enhance services related to tourism.  

Principal IHM Md Sidiquir suggested the need to advertise local cuisine and promote it on a global scale while Khurdha DFO AK Patnaik deliberated on the conservation of the environment and hence promote eco-tourism and biodiversity.
