Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation to be set up by State Government

Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: While addressing a conference of FICCI which was held in Bhubaneswar on Friday, Principal Secretary of Steel and Mines Raj Kumar Sharma said that the State Government will soon set up ‘Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation’ to increase the extraction of minerals in Odisha.

He further said that the entity would function as a subsidiary company of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and provide raw material to the industries.

The government plans to extract 110 million tonnes of iron ore in 2016 which stood at 80 million tonnes last year
