Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: Yet till about 75 % of the polling has been recorded in the second phase of the Odisha Panchayat elections 2017. As of reports, the highest polling has been recorded at Dhenkanal with 83% and the lowest at Malkangiri with 60%.
Counting of votes for the second phase panchayat elections began at 1PM. With the counting underway, BJD is leading in 69 seats, with BJP grabbing 52 and congress with 13.
Yesterday, with the End of the first phase elections, for a total of 188 Zila Parishad seats, BJD was leading with about 96 seats while BJP was holding onto 73.
Seems BJP’s campaign strategies have worked out in the wee hours and the results are visible, in comparison to the previous elections.
