Bhubaneswar, Apr 5: Te remain informed about the day to day crimes across the state, the Odisha police has now finally decided to use the social media platform. Announcing this, Police DG KB singh said, all the IGs, DIGs and SPs are directed to open twitter and Facebook accounts. These accounts will further also be linked with CM Naveen Patnaik’s accounts.
Adding to this Singh said, the officials are also directed to be updated with their accounts every time and also follow up the CM’s fb page and twitter handle for regular updates and along with should reply to the tweets or posts regarding the official actions taken by the concerned department for a particular case.
Notably, the Commissionerate police already has a Facebook page and a twitter handle which they are following on a regular basis.
In near past, few evil incidents had happened, to which the victims had approached the authorities though social media. And accordingly, the steps were taken to follow up their cases.
With the increasing number of users of social media, and keeping in view about a big step in eradication of crime in the state, the state police has taken such a great decision.
