Bhubaneswar: April 09: Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sumitra Jena tendered her resignation from her post as well as primary membership of party.
She expressed her discontentment for not getting Party ticket from Bhadrak. Congress has fielded Nalinikant Mohanty as the candidate for the Bhadrak assembly seat.
Ending her decade long relationship with the party, she alleged that, Odisha Pradesh Congress Chief Niranjan Patnaik is doing dynasty politics as well as restricting women empowerment in politics.
She had earlier alleged that, a group of people attacked her at the party’s State headquarters while she was staging a dharna in front of the party office on March 31, but no disciplinary action has been taken against the people involved.
She also alleged that, she had recommended names of 52 candidates from Mahila Congress and many of them have been sidelined.
