Bhubaneswar: April 20: Odisha registered 4761 new COVID-19 Cases in last 24 hours and of this, 2,785 patients were in quarantine and rest 1976 people are local contact cases.
Khorda district is the worst affected district with 820 new cases detected on 19th April, followed by Sundergarh 673 cases, Nuapada 534 cases, Bolangir district 322 cases, Jharsuguda 234 cases, Bargarh 198 cases, Puri 193 cases, Sambalpur 183 cases, Cuttack 176 cases, Kalahandi 167 cases, Nawarangpur 154 cases, Keonjhar 103 cases, Jajpur & Mayurbhanj 86 cases each, Balasore 84 cases, Angul 81 cases, Bhadrak & Nayagarh 63 cases each, Rayagada 60 cases, Kendrapara 50 cases, Ganjam 49 cases, Sonepur 47 cases, Deogarh, Gajapati & Koraput 31 cases each, Kandhamal 25 cases, Boudh 23 cases, Jagatsinghpur 22 cases, Malkangiri & Dhenkanal 6 cases each and 160 cases identified from State Pool.
On 19th itself, 1503 patients recovered from the infection. As informed by Information & Public Relations Department, the active cases number reached 27,821. Total cases in Odisha increased to 3,77,464 and out of that, 3,47,637 people have recovered so far.
As per the tweet of Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha, 5 COVID Positive patients died while under treatment in hospitals. They are 52 yrs.old male of Keonjhar district, 47 yrs.old male of Rayagada District, 80 yrs.old female of Nuapada District, 60 yrs.old female of Nuapada District and 38 yrs.old female of Nuapada district.
