Odisha Reports 5 More Cases Of Omicron Variant
Odisha reported 5 more cases of Omicron Variant of Covid-19. With this, total tally rose to 14, informed the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) on Thursday.
They were all tested Covid Positive and after Genome sequencing conducted at the ILS, it is found that, they are infected with Omicron-variant of COVID-19.
Odisha had first reported two cases of Omicron infection on December 21. They had returned from Nigeria and Qatar, respectively. Further, on December 23, two minors, who had returned to Khordha from Nigeria were diagnosed with Omicron variant.
On 26th December, state reported 4 more cases of Omicron and the tally jumped to 8. Out of 4, 3 have come from Nigeria and the other one from Saudi Arabia.
On 29th December, a man, returned from Dubai, had tested positive with Omicron.
So, with today’s five, State’s tally increased to 14.
