Bhubaneswar: September 24: Odisha reported highest single-day spike of 4,340 fresh COVID-19 Cases in last 24 hours, pushing the State’s total tally to 1,96,888. Out of 4,340 fresh cases, 2,517 people were in quarantine and rest 1,823 cases are from local contacts.
According to the Health & Family Welfare Department, Khurda reported 653 new cases in last 24 hours, followed by Cuttack 567 cases, Puri 203 cases, Jagatsinghpur 193 cases, Jharsuguda 174 cases, Balasore 162 cases, Angul 155 cases, Jajpur 151 cases, Kandhamal & Nabarangpur 143 cases each, Sundergarh 138 cases, Sambalpur 130 cases, Sonepur 129 cases, Mayurbhanj 127 cases, Kendrapara 109 cases, Bargarh 108 cases, Bhadrak 105 cases, Ganjam & Keonjhar 90 cases each, Nayagarh 84 cases, Koraput 77 cases, Nuapada 74 cases, Boudh 67 cases, Rayagada 62 cases, Kalahandi 58 cases, Dhenkanal 56 cases, Bolangir 53 cases, Malkangiri 34 cases, Deogarh 22 cases, Gajapati 19 cases and 164 cases from State Pool.
So far, 1,57,265 patients have recovered from the disease in Odisha. At present, 38,818 active cases are there in the State.
In last 24 hours, 16 patients succumbed to the disease and total death toll in the State reached 752.
