New Delhi, Nov 19
India’s Election Commission has announced the schedule for by-poll to a Rajya Sabha seat in Odisha which fell vacant following the demise of a Biju Janata Dal MP.
BJD member from the Upper House Kalpataru Das had died on July 25 following which the seat fell vacant.
While the notification would be issued on November 26, December 3 would be the last date for filing nominations.
The polling as well as the counting of votes will be held on December 14.
Odisha has 10 Rajya Sabha seats. The ruling BJD had seven members in the Upper House followed by Congress’ one and two independents in the House of Elders.
