Odisha Suspends Konark Festival 2021
In view of the reports of India Meteorological Department and advisories issued BY Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha on Deep Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal turning into Cyclonic Storm Jawad and reaching the coasts of Odisha, and in public interest, the Konark Festival 2021 and International Sand Art Festival 2021 being held on Chandrabhaga beach in Konark, Puri are being called off with immediate effect.
Indian classical dance extravaganza, ‘Konark Festival’- 2021, was started at Konark on Wednesday and Chief Minister of Odisha inaugurated the grand event. The five-day programme is being organised by the state tourism department in association with Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi and OTDC.
International Sand Art Festival 2021, also started at Chandrabhaga Beach in Konark and renowned sand artists from across the globe sculpting their unique creations on the beach.
