Pramod Bhagat, Gold medalist in 2020 Tokyo Paralympics will get a cash award of Rs 6 crore and Group-A level government job, said Sports & Youth Services Department today.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shall handed over the Cheque after his arrival in Bhubaneswar. He will also be eligible for a Group-A level government job, the department said.

Earlier, Chief Minister had announced cash awards for achieving medals – Rs 6 crores for the Gold medal, Rs 4 Crore for the Silver medal, and Rs 2.5 crore for the Bronze medal. A grant of Rs 15 lakhs was provided as support for their preparation for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

Odisha Government has already handed over Rs.2.5 Crore each to Birendra Lakra and Amit Rohidas for winning Bronze Medal in Hockey. India’s Men’s Hockey Team won Bronze in Hockey in 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Also, Chief Minister had earlier interacted with Olympic & Paralympic players from Odisha.
