Bhubaneswar: Odisha is expected to receive heavy rainfall as a low-pressure system is likely to form on May 27. The low-pressure system is expected to form in the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal by May 27 and will intensify further over the next two days. Due to this, rainfall is likely to occur in various parts of the state from May 27 to 31. Heavy rain is predicted at some places during this period.
The effect of nor’westers or kalabaisakhi will continue in the state for the next seven days. Light to moderate rainfall is likely at some places in south and north Odisha over the next 24 hours. Accordingly, a yellow warning has been issued for 25 districts due to the likelihood of lightning, thunder, and wind speeds of 40-50 km/h.
However, hot and humid weather will also prevail in some places, for which a yellow warning has been issued for 13 districts in coastal Odisha.
