Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda and Bargarh District of Odisha, may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall in next 24 hours. Also, few places may experience extremely heavy (>20cm) rainfall, IMD predicted. For which, MeT has issued Red Warning for the said districts.
Odisha to witness Heavy Rain
Some places of Bolangir, Sundargarh, Boudh, Keonjhar, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Cuttack District may also experience heavy to very heavy rainfail during next 24 hours. MeT Centre issued Yellow Warning for the said districts.
SW monsoon has been vigorous over Odisha. Moderate rain/ thundershower has occurred at most places over the districts of Odisha with Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall at many places & Extremely Heavy-rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, MeT office.
Heavy to Heavy Rainfall continues in several parts of Odisha
‘The Deep Depression over north coastal Odisha moved further west-north-westwards during past 6 hours with a speed of 12 kmph and lay centred at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 13th September, 2021,over north coastal Odisha, near latitude 20.9°N and longitude 86.5°E, about 20 km west-northwest of Chandbali and 120 km eastsoutheast of Keonjhargarh (Odisha). It is very likely to continue to move westnorthwestwards across north Odisha, north Chhattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh during next 48 hours. It is very likely to weaken into a Depression during next 24 hours’, IMD said.
