On Saturday, Odisha Vigilance searched four places linked to Rajendra Kumar Samantray, Forest Range Officer of Rahama in Jagatsinghpur district, after claims that he owns assets beyond his known income.

Vigilance officials said the searches began on December 20 after the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, issued search warrants. A large team, including two Additional Superintendents of Police, five Deputy Superintendents, eight Inspectors, and other staff, is handling the operation.
The searches are taking place at the officer’s three-storey home in Chatara, Jagatsinghpur town, a two-storey house in his native village Samantarayapur under Dondo post office, his office at the Forest Range in Sampur under the Cuttack Forest Division, and the government quarters in the Jagatsinghpur Forest Range campus.
Vigilance officials said the searches are part of an ongoing investigation into claims that the Forest Range Officer has assets beyond his known income. They are checking documents, valuables, and other items related to the case.
