Bhubaneswar: The night temperature in Odisha dropped significantly, with several regions recording temperatures below 8°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On Sunday, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recorded the season’s lowest at 7.8°C, while Phulbani and Daringbadi reported 11°C and 12°C, respectively. The region also experienced moderate fog in some areas.
Other locations where temperatures fell below 15°C include Similiguda in Koraput (12.1°C), Rourkela (13.1°C), Jharsuguda (13.3°C), Chiplima in Sonepur (13.8°C), Sundargarh and Bhadrak (14°C each), Kierei in Sundargarh (14.3°C), Keonjhar (14.6°C) and Dhenkanal (14.9°C).
Twin cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack saw below-normal temperatures for the second consecutive day, registering 16°C (-3) and 16.5°C (-1.4) respectively. The IMD has forecast a further decline of 2-3°C in night temperatures across many areas over the next three days, with no major changes expected thereafter.
