Bhubaneswar: July 25: Amit Rohidas, a star hockey player from Odisha, has been included in the 18-member Indian Men’s Hockey Team for the Chennai 2023 Hero Asian Champions Trophy.
From August 3 to August 12, Chennai’s Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium will host the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2023. India will compete in the tournament’s Pool stage against Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, and China.
The Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023 will also serve as a preparation event for the crucial Hangzhou Asian Games 2023.
Harmanpreet Singh, a talented drag-flicker and defender, will continue to captain the team, with Hardik Singh, a talented midfielder, serving as vice-captain.
The team’s designated goalkeepers are PR Sreejesh and Krishan Bahadur Pathak, while the defenders are Jarmanpreet Singh, Sumit, Jugraj Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar, and Amit Rohidas.
Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Shamsher Singh, and Nilakanta Sharma will be in charge of the midfield in the meantime. Manpreet Singh will also play midfield again after initially being listed as a defender during the Pro League’s European leg.
The forward line was made up of S Karthi, Mandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, and Akashdeep Singh. These forwards can score important goals, set up scoring opportunities, and put constant pressure on the opposing defense.
