Bhubaneswar, May 13: Odisha’s star kid also called as wonder boy, Budhia Singh has been invited to attend the Mount Everest Peace Torch March run starting in Nepal from May 15. Budhia will be the torchbearer of ‘Buddha’s flame’ and will cover the entire Kapilvastu kingdom. Other established marathoners will also accompany Budhia. At a later point, the team will get divided and then run towards Mount Everest and leave Budhia at Kathmandu. Budhia will carry the Buddha Peace Flame torch with Nepal’s national runner and Limca Book of Records holder and Olympian Baikuntha Manandhar, and Marathon Man of Sikkim, Amar Subba.
Mount Everest Peace Torch March run will be starting from today till May 27 in Lumbini which is Buddha’s birth place to celebrate Buddha’s birth, Enlightenment and Mahaparinivana anniversary in 2017. The marathon is scheduled to begin from the Maya Devi Temple, Lumbini, to Kudan (Nigrodharma), the place where Gautama stayed after returning home as Enlightened Buddha.
