OFPA Film Awards 2017 held on Sunday in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, May 15: Yesterday at the Odisha Film Producer’s Association (OFPA) Film Award, 2017 organised at the Utkal Mandap here, Ollywood’s superstar Uttam Mohanty was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. ‘Love Station’ of Tarang Cine Productions received the best film award. The best director award was given to

Ashok Pati for Love Station. Actor Babusan received the best actor award and the best comedian award went to Papu Pom Pom for the same movie. The best character award (male) was given to veteran Mihir Das for the film, ‘Love Pain Kuch bhi Karega’ whereas Aparajita Mohanty got the best character award (female) for the movie ‘Tu Kahibu Na Mun’. This was the first time that the artists and technicians were also felicitated in 37 categories.

OFPA joint secretary Sachikant Jena said that efforts have been made to award genuine and deserving people. The initiative for the development of Odia film industry will continue.

The chief guest of the event was Sambad ‘s editor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik. Young Ollywood artists also performed dazzlingly at the event.
