Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: In connection to the horrific death of a four year old boy by a pack of stray dogs in Jagannath Colony area, yesterday the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) gave strict orders to the Puri Collector and Municipality Executive Officer to submit a detailed report about the incident. The incident had happened on Dec 1. The boy was mauled by the dos when he was going to his aunt’s place to watch TV. Post the incident the Puri Municipality issued directions for strictly enforcing guidelines to curb the stray dog menace here and also ordered the Chief District Veterinary Medical Officer (CDVO) to make an action plan for immediate sterilization and vaccination of these stray dogs. Executive engineer of the Puri Municipality, Sanjay Mishra thus stated that all the stray dogs here will be sterilised in the next 7 days.
