Operation ‘Muskan’ starts off today

Bhubaneswar, July 25; A joint operation called ‘Muskan’, by the Crime Branch and  Labour & Child Welfare department would begin today in order to trace missing children in and outside of Odisha.

The two phase operation, which starts from today, will continue till August 24. In the first phase, it would conduct search operation within the state from July 25th to August 9th. The second phase would start form August 10th, where other states will be covered to trace the missing children.

For this purpose, 10 special teams have been formed. These special teams would cover states like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand to trace out the missing children, Crime Branch official informed.

Notably, last year hundreds of children, including 91 from outside the state, had been rescued during the operation ‘Muskan’.
