Bhubaneswar, July 27: The Odisha State Road and Transport Corporation (OSRTC) buses will not be functioning on any of the routes in the Maoist-hit districts, from Rayagada to interior Odisha. The bus transportation has been kept on hold in these regions for seven days for security reasons, in view of the Maoists’ observance of Sahid Week from July 28 to August 3.
It may be noted that the Maoists have put up posters in Parasahi area of Rayagada stating that July 28 to August 3 would be observed as the Sahid Week to recall and show respect for five tribal killed in Kandhamal on July 8 in the crossfire between Maoists and security personnel.
