Bhubaneswar, Dec 24: A notification for holding Panchayat elections has been issued by the State government on Friday. Election would be held for Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samitis and Zilla Parishads, as mentioned in the notification. 6805 Panchayats, 853 Zilla Parishad zones would be participating in the election and besides that, elections for 92,057 ward members will also be conducted.
Information regarding preparedness for Panchyat Elections has been given to the State Election Commission (SEC) and based on that, the dates for election would be announced by the SEC soon.
