Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: After the grand rally of Amit Shah, the BJD is going to show its strength on November 29 by gathering women across the State in the plea of Biju Birth Centenary celebration.
The BJP considered the move of ruling regional party as a vain attempt to counter Shah’s rally while Congress alleged both parties are using government machineries for their own interest. The BJD-led government has written to all Road Transport Officers (RTOs) to bring about 18,000 women, especially members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and representatives from every panchayats. The party claimed that the sole motto of the rally is making the women aware about empowerment. The Panchayati Raj department, which has taken the responsibility of the public meeting, has also asked the RTOs to make temporary arrangements at the hostels of a private educational institution for accommodation of the participants.
The State BJP dubbed the move of BJD-led government as a futile attempt to counter the recent rally held by the national president of the saffron party.
