Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: Today the BJP state vice-president Sameer Mohanty while addressing the media on the attack on senior party leader Pratap Sarangi’s vehicle at Nilagiri block in Balasore on Thursday night said that the results of the first and second phase polling of the panchayat polls have left the BJD in shame. The ruling party is in a state of shock over the huge response of those voters who desire for a change in the state leadership. This has happened for the first time in the last 20 years. In these last 20 years, the legal system along with the police had become a mute spectator and a puppet in the hands of the state government and the BJD has taken law in his own hands by attacking BJP candidates and activists at Dasamantpur in Jajpur and Bhatli in Bargarh. On the other hand, after the completion of the third phase panchayat elections today, BJD spokesperson, Sashibhusan Behera stated that the overall show of the party has so far been better than rival BJP and Congress.
