Malkangiri, Jan 10: Today, the Maoists put up posters in which they threatened the villagers to stay away from the upcoming panchayat polls. These posters were found in Kudumuluguma village, here. The posters stated that the person will be sentenced to death if he or she dares to participate in the elections or even apply for the candidature for the Panchayat Samiti, Sarapanch, Zilla Parishad or even for the ward member post. Those who would step down to vote will be losing their thumb.
Further, the CPI Maoists also warned the contractor to stop all ongoing developmental work in Block Panchayats.
