Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: In view of the upcoming Panchayat Polls, the Odisha government has allowed its employees to take three days leave for casting their votes. The State Election Commission (SEC) had apprised the state government on the same and the latter approved the same. State government employees, employees of state-owned corporations and boards, employees of state government-affiliated firms will be eligible to avail three days leave from their respective higher officials to cast their votes. These three days would be one day before the polling day, one day on the polling day and one day after the polling day. The Panchayati Raj department has directed all the District Collectors to declare the Poll day in the concerned panchayat/block as a public holiday.
Notably, Feb 12,15,17,19 and 21 have been announced as polling days for the panchayat elections in the state.
