Paralakhemundi, Aug 26: Kalyani Gajapati Deb, daughter of royal Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb, who had reached here on Thursday evening from Chennai, was interrogated by the Crime Branch six-member team of the special investigation team (SIT) about the mysterious deaths of Parala Maharaja’s former manager Ananga Manjari Patra and her three siblings few days ago.

According to sources, Kalyani was interrogated at a lodge in Purunapatna area.

Before Kalyani performed a puja at a local temple here after she arrived, she was taken in a grand procession around the city by her supporters.

As the king’s over Rs.500 crore properties are suspected to be the reason behind the mysterious deaths of the manager and her siblings, some important information is likely to come out from the interrogation.

Meanwhile, the legal tussle between the Parala King and his younger brother Sarbajgan Jagannath Narayana Deo is also being verified. The SIT officials said that if needed, then they would speak to the king’s younger brother to find out if property was the sole reason behind the manager and her siblings to take the extreme step.
