Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: Photographs of Congress leaders, including PCC chief Prasad Harichandan, with Rashmi Ranjan Pattasani aka Sambhu, the main suspect in the Patrapada firing case on August 19, that have surfaced yesterday have set political circles abuzz here.
Locals in Patrapada area are shocked to see connections between Rashmi Ranjan and Congress leaders. It’s stated that in 2007, Rashmi Ranjan was elected as a Naib Sarpanch. He was also a Sarpanch candidate in 2012. Although maximum leaders of the party preferred to keep quiet on the fact that whether Rashmi Ranjan was a member of the Congress party or not and about his links with politicians, senior Congress leader, Suresh Routray admitted the fact that the arrested person was a good organizer for the party.
Satyabrata Bhoi, Bhubaneswar DCP informed that the investigation is on and the criminal antecedents of Rashmi Ranjan are being verified.
