People plant saplings as an innovative way of protest for broken road in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Sept 17: Annoyed by the inconvenience caused to the passersby, people of Bhimatangi area of Bhubaneswar today planted paddy saplings on the stretch of road in lane number 11 of BMC ward number 61, as an innovative way of protest, demanding immediate repair of the road which is in a bad state with stinking smell emitted from the accumulated garbage that has become a mosquito breeding ground.

Members of the Ekamra Jan Jagaran Manch cleaned the area of the garbage with the use of brooms and planted paddy saplings in order to draw the attention of the authorities towards the bad state of the roads.

Many social workers also joined the protest including Corporator Subasini Prusty, Debashish Bramha, Pradip Prusty, Prashant Das, Socialite Riturani Senapati, Brajraj Panda among others.
