Puri, May 8: People living around the Shree Mandir here have resented the Puri district administration notice to surrender structures by May 10 to facilitate widening of the road.
Notably, the District Administration had sent notices to these people to surrender their buildings and structures failing which it will demolish them from May 13 onwards.
However, lawer Amit Das, who is representing one Damodar Gochhikar alleged on Sunday that the administration had blatantly flouted the land acquisition Act Section 19.
He said, the apex court had ruled that the before acquisition the owners need to be suitably rehabilited.
He said, instead of adhering to the LA rules and norms, the administration is using terror tactics through police action.
Das alleged his client was detained by police for hours to put pressure on him to surrender his house to the administration.
This apart, a writ application is pending with the Orissa High Court over the action of the administration, Das said.
