PNG Minister launches PMMY in Odisha

BERHAMPUR, SEPT 25: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) in Odisha for disbursement of loans to small entrepreneurs.
The Minister handed over allotment letters from Banks to beneficiaries of PMMY at Berhampur and interacted with them.
“Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) will definitely free small entrepreneurs from burden of extremely high interest rates charged on them. Now they can avail loan with just 1 rupee per month interest. Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for conceiving such an idea that will benefit needy entrepreneurs”, Pradhan said.
Starting from September 25, the campaign will continue till October 2, the Minister informed adding that during the campaign, the Central government aims at disbursing 25 lakh Shishu loans and the department has set a target of 25 Shishu loans per bank branch throughout the country.
Stating that the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed for economic empowerment of poor, needy and those who are excluded so far, Pradhan said, “Financial inclusion through Mudra Bank will go a long way in ensuring more economic activity in the country.”
