Police arrested ‘most wanted’ Govind Sahu, informed Balangir SP today.

He had escaped from Police custody from October 17 on the pretext of going to bathroom for washing hands.

As said, he was nabbed from his younger sister’s house at Budhipadar village under under Bangamunda Block in Balangir district.

Mamita Meher, a teacher of Sunshine Public School, Mahaling, in Kalahandi district, went on missing from October 17,which has created much hue & cry in the State. Mamita’s family also lodged an FIR in the Police Station and they alleged that, School’s President Govinda Sahu is involved in the case.

Police detained Govinda Sahu  in connection with the case. But, he had escaped on October 17.

The Balangir Police had announced Rs 1 lakh cash reward for sharing information on the absconder. Hours after announcement, he was nabbed by the police.

Notably, the teacher of the school Mamita Meher went on missing from school since October 8.

Today, a body of a woman was exhumed at an under-construction stadium near the school. With the body, Police found jewelries, a purse and chain from that place. Mamita’s family  confirmed that jewelries, chain and purse exhumed along with the body belong to Mamita.
