Police officers with good work to be appreciated immediately, says Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: September 14: Chief Minister addressed the Inspector In-Charges (IICs) of 635 police stations across the State through video conferencing held at the Lok Seva Bhawan here today and discussed on different aspects of Programme ‘Mo Sarakar’.

Chief Minister said, “Starting from 2nd October-Gandhi Jayanti I will personally make ten phone calls every day. Based on the feedback there will be immediate action appreciating those who are doing good work and initiating action against those who are not.’

He further added, ‘ the complainant will not chase the police official for redressal of his grievance and under Mo Sarkar the phone number of every petitioner visiting the police station will be recorded and will be available to everyone in the system-starting from the Chief Minister to the Superintendent of Police.

‘The hallmark of good governance is citizen satisfaction. You will all agree that there is huge scope for improvement in this.’ CM added.

Patnaik further added, “We want a transformation in this—Under Mo Sarkar, the citizen will not chase us –We will follow up with the complainant as to how he was treated at the Police Station and how his complaint was dealt with. Under Mo Sarkar the Phone number of every petitioner visiting the Police Station will be recorded and available to everyone In the system — starting from the Chief Minister to the Superintendent of Police. Starting from 2nd October—Gandhi Jayanti I will personally make ten phone calls every day.”

The CM had announced ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme during Independence Day celebration on August 15. The new initiative will commence from Oct 2. Under the programme, Patnaik will personally call up people to get their feedback on the quality of service and responses they receive from police stations and hospitals.
