Police seek remand of Ramesh Jena in murder case

Bhubaneswar, March 30: Former Congress MLA Ramesh Jena was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Digapahandi on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Malabhanj Sarpanch.

 The Crime Branch has applied before the JMFC for taking Jena into remand for investigation into the murder case.

Meanwhile, the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court, Aska on Tuesday granted the Aska Police to take former Congress MLA Ramesh Jena on a two day remand from March 31.

The JMFC had reserved its decision on Monday against the petition of the Aska Police to take Jena on a three day remand for further interrogation into the various tender fixing allegations against Jena.

Notably, the former Legislator was implicated in a tender fixing case filed against him at Aska Police Station on February 24.
