Dhenkanal, Mar 14: Over political enmity, a man was allegedly killed by unidentified assailants in Gandia here. The name of the deceased is Mayadhar Pradhan. It’s stated that when Pradhan was returning home late night yesterday, he was attacked and then beaten to death near Koseida square. The family of the deceased suspected the ongoing political rivalry behind the brutal murder. Although, Mayadhar did not have any political links, his brother worked an activist for a particular political party and had picked up a dispute with workers of another party during the panchayat elections. A case has been registered in connection to the murder on the basis of the complaint filed by the deceased’s brother. Pradhan’s corpse has been sent for post mortem and an investigation has also been started simultaneously. Raids have also been conducted at several places and the cops are hopeful of the fact that the accused will be arrested soon. This was informed by Dhenkanal SP Basant Panigrahy to the media.
