New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee today led the country in paying homage to the Father of Nation on his 146th birth anniversary.
Mukherjee paid homage at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
Vice President Mohd. Hamid Ansari also went to Rajghat to pay his homage at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the morning.
Modi attended the Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha at the Samadhi.
Union Ministers, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and host of political leaders of different parties also visited Rajghat to offer their tribute to the immortal soul.
Several welfare measures were announced by the State governments on the occasion in memory of Gandhi.
