Bhubaneswar, Apr 5: Rise in protest for relocation of wine shops are growing day by day. Problem grows as govt officials find it difficult in relocating the liquor shops which are shutdown after the supreme court’s order.
As of reports, in few places, shops have also started operating because of the disapproval of people.
The closing of the shops along the highways, has cost the state a loss of about Rs 1200 crores. Opening up of / Relocation of the shops won’t be easy after all the protests that are rising up in the Highway side villages.
We are not going against the people at any cost, the shops will be relocated after discussions with the local residents, says Khurda District Collector Niranjan Sahu.
