Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: The Pulse Polio drive began across 30 districts in Odisha on Sunday. The drive began at 7 AM and continued till 5 PM. 18,968 immunization centres had been set up to administer pulse polio drops to the children. Apart from this, 376 mobile teams were engaged to administer polio vaccines to the children in the far-flung areas who have not turned up to the immunization centres.
The state government has set a target to administer Pulse Polio vaccine to 44.5 lakh children within 0-5 age group. The first phase of the immunization drive will continue till Jan 31 while the second phase of the drive will be carried out from Apr 2 to 4.
