Puri, Jan 10: In connection to the gruesome murder of the lodge owner and advocate, Chandan Behera that happened on Sunday night, the Orissa HC Bar Association and All Odisha Lawyers’ Association from today are conducting a 3-day state-wide cease work stir as a protest step. Yesterday, protesting the inability on the part of the cops to nab the assailants involved in the murder, the lawyers’ association in Puri staged demonstrations and road blockade ahead of the Collector’s office. They also went on to further demand the transfer of Puri SP. All this was informed by Puri Bar Association president, Premananda Mohanty and vice president of Orissa High Court Bar Association, Kali Prasad Mishra to the media.
Notably, on Sunday night, Chandan Behera. The logde owner here, was murdered on the lodge premises situated under Sea Beach Police limits. He was attacked by 2 miscreants while entering the lodge premises on a scooter along with his friend Krushna Chandra Pradhan. His friend also sustained injuries in the attack. The miscreants had attacked Chandan with a sharp weapon on the back of his neck and hand following which he died on the spot.
