Till now, no such announcement has been made by Behera about his son being the new secretary or even participating in the race, informed Satya Mohanty, Treasurer of OCA. After the Court’s order, based on the Lodha Committee report, demanded resignation of Anurag Thakur, BCCI president and Ajay Shirke, Secretary, the entire cricket fraternity is now into an environment of uncertainty, he added.

However, it is been expected that the election process will start from February and only after the Association conducts an emergency meet, the dates will be finalized. Members of the cricket association of 33 districts, 20 clubs, 10 schools and 5 colleges will be participating in the OCA election.

It may be noted that, on Jun 25, 2000, Behera was selected as the secretary of the OCA and he is being selected for the post around four times in a row without any competition.
